WHO I AM

I am a Fourth Generation Montanan, born and raised right here in Yellowstone County.

I started my career at Albertsons in 1989 as a courtesy clerk. Through hard work and commitment to the company, I quickly took on new leadership roles. By 1998, I became the store director of the Albertsons located on N. 27th Street in Billings and soon after took over the Central Avenue Location as well. Over the course of three decades with the company, I have led hundreds of employees. The management and leadership courses I have taught throughout the state have allowed me to cultivate positive mentorships with individuals who I continue to support and guide when called upon.

My long career at Albertsons kept me grounded in service towards the community that raised me. I have spent more than a decade on the Chase Hawks Memorial Association’s Board of Directors, serving as both president and vice president, and am dedicated to continuing volunteering at events that support families in need. While serving on the board I co-founded the annual Bike Safety Rodeo at Albertsons, a fully volunteer-run event that provides helmets, repairs, bike giveaways, and family activities for hundreds of local kids. For nearly 20 years, I have also been involved with Flakesgiving, where I coordinated supplies and their distribution to provide more than 1,500 Thanksgiving meals locally each year.

My commitment to service extends to board leadership across the region. Along with the Chase Hawks Memorial Association, I currently serve on the boards of Yellowstone Valley Electric Cooperative, the Montana Electric Co-op Association (including its Executive Board), and the Northwest Public Power Association. These boards have a direct impact on the community’s access to safe, affordable, and reliable power. As County Commissioner, I also represent the county on several local boards including Allies in Aging , HRDC, Community Crisis Center, and more. My past board involvement includes the Downtown Billings Association, a local water board, and the Briarwood Country Club board.

Above all, I am grounded by my family. My wife and I are blessed with four grown children, their spouses, and our two wonderful grandchildren. Our entire family still lives in Billings, and our weekly Sunday dinner tradition keeps us close and connected.

After 35 years in business leadership and a lifetime in Yellowstone County, I was appointed to the Yellowstone County Commission following the tragic passing of Commissioner John Ostlund. John was a true leader and a genuine representative of the Montana way of life. I was humbled to be selected to carry on his work, fully aware that no one could ever fill his boots. I have appreciated and embraced every moment of this opportunity.

Today, I am seeking to continue serving in this role and am still committed to strengthening our community, supporting local families, and ensuring Yellowstone County remains strong and prosperous for generations to come.

WHY I’M Running

I am committed to responsible budgeting, protecting taxpayers, leading through service, and ensuring Yellowstone County continues to be the economic engine of Montana.

It is critical that we make smart, conservative decisions that preserve our prosperity and Montana way of life for future generations.
